Our Story

Born from a love of the cosmos.

Aphelion began with a single image, a James Webb Space Telescope photograph so impossibly detailed that it seemed wrong to leave it on a screen.

Most space art isn't space at all. It's an illustration, or a render, or something a model dreamed up. We wanted the real thing: the actual light that actually traveled for thousands of years and landed in an actual telescope.

So that's all we sell. Real telescope imagery from NASA and ESA public archives, chosen for how it looks on a wall, and made on metal because paper cannot hold a night sky.

We named the store after the point in an orbit that sits furthest from the sun. It felt right for a shop about distance, and about looking outward.

Every image is an actual telescope photograph from NASA and ESA public archives, not an illustration, not AI. We record the mission and source behind each one, and we name it on the product page.

Metal, Not Paper

Your image is infused into coated aluminum by dye-sublimation, not printed onto it. Color lives inside the surface, which is why blacks stay deep and starlight holds its shine.

Made For You, Not For A Warehouse

Nothing is printed until someone orders it. No overstock, no unsold inventory, no landfill, just one print, made for one wall.

Why Made-to-Order?

Every print exists because you ordered it.

We don't hold stock. When your order comes in, your image is produced, mounted, inspected, and shipped, which is why there's a short production window before it goes out.

That's the trade: a few days of patience, in exchange for a print that was made for you rather than pulled off a shelf. We think it's worth it.
